RISON - About two dozen units from the Rogers Police Department made their way through Rison at about 1:30 p.m. Monday for the funeral of fellow officer Frederick Marsh, who lost his life while assisting another swimmer along the Elk River in southwest Missouri on July 18. Marsh, 24, a Rison native, had joined the Rogers Police Department after graduating from the Arkansas Law Enforcement Academy in April.
Monday’s escort included law enforcement vehicles representing the Rogers Police, Harrison Police, Pine Bluff Police, Cleveland County Sheriff’s Department, Benton County Sheriffs Department, Washington County Sheriff's Department, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and Arkansas State Police. Marsh was buried at Humble Hope Cemetery near Rison following a service at New Life Church in Pine Bluff.
