Mr. Attwood was born December 25,1933 to parents Mildred Maddox Attwood and Edward Leali Attwood. What a precious present he was and what a wonderful gift he would become to so many.

Mr. Attwood's legacy includes inspiring his family, friends and community through his quiet actions, his ability to find joy in small things such as good, homemade ice cream and a front yard swing, by showing up for others without expecting praise and most of all by his example that faith, kindness and love will endure.

Mr. Attwood served in the United States Air Force from 1953 until 1957. Upon returning to the states, Mr. Attwood began a career at the Pine Bluff Papermill that would last from 1957 until his retirement in 1996.

Upon retirement, Mr. Attwood began his true passion which was farming and raising cattle on land that his family and ancestors had worked for many years. He was able to accomplish this with his son, Jim and his grandson Jared. Attwood Farms is now a 3rd generation farming operation.

On March 14. 1958, Mr. Attwood married the love of his life, Barbara Ann Shelby, A union that would last more than 68 years. A testimony of true love, dedication and devotion.

Throughout his lifetime Mr. Attwood served as Quorum Court Justice of the Peace, President of Southern Farm Bureau, member of the Cattlemen's Association, and on the Soil Conservation Board of Directors.

Mr. Attwood was a lifelong, devoted member of the Rison United Methodist Church where he served on numerous boards and committees. In addition to making financial and building decisions, he would also arrive early on a Sunday morning to make coffee and turn on the heat or air so the congregants would be comfortable. He loved his church and church family with his whole heart. He lived his life as an example for others.
