RISON - Anyone traveling through Rison at about 7:40 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, may have caught of a glimpse of a Union Pacific Passenger Special passing through town. The passenger train is part of Union Pacific’s Heritage Fleet, which operates special passenger excursions and business trains utilizing restored vintage "Armour Yellow" passenger cars. The train that passed through both Rison and Kingsland Wednesday morning was pulled with a modern diesel locomotive. Most of Union Pacific’s railroad business today involves moving freight throughout the country.
