Woodlawn’s Daniel Norton Wins Crossett Invitational

WOODLAWN - The Woodlawn Junior High boys and girls cross country teams competed at the Crossett Invitational Meet held Sept. 10 held at the Scott McCormick Sports Complex, Coach Syndey Adair has announced. The junior boys were second overall as a team, finishing behind the first place team by 1:16. Daniel Norton, a 9th grader, was first among 51 runners with a time of 12:40. Other top competitors included: Mark Adams - 9th grader (12th) 14:25 Gavin Edmonds - 9th grader (15th) time of 14:44 Brayden Jones - 7th grader (18th) 15:14 Parker Arnold - 9th grader (20th) 15:21. The Junior Lady Bears finished fourth overall as a team. Preslee Mack, a 7th grader, finished 9th among 66 runners with a time of 16:49. Other top competitors included: Kelsi Mack, 9th grader, (24th) 19:12 Jailyn Wright, 9th grader, (26th) 20:15 Maeley Simmons, 7th grader, (27th) 20:16 The next meet will be the Moro Bay Invitational in Jersey, on Sept. 24.
