Jr. Bears Suffer 7 Turnovers, Fall To Mountain Pine

WOODLAWN - The Woodlawn Junior Bears lost seven of eight fumbles in the game, and the larger and faster Mountain Pine Junior Red Devils cashed in on nearly every one of them for a 60-0 victory last Friday afternoon at the Carl Jones Sports Complex. After Woodlawn was forced to punt on its first possession, the Junior Bears fumbled the ball away on their next seven series as the Junior Devils were up 24-0 by the end of the first quarter and 46-0 at halftime. Coach Zach Meyer began to insert some of his 7th graders in the game with 7:45 left in the second quarter. Woodlawn fell to 2-3 with the South Conference loss. The Junior Bears will be off this Friday since Marvell is not fielding a junior high team this year. ...
