Donald R. Hopper, 66, of the Pleasant Ridge Community (Cleveland County) passed from this life on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at his home.
He was bom at the old Davis Hospital in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on April 15th 1956.
He was a 1974 graduate of Woodlawn High School. Before moving to Houston, Texas, Donald worked at Ben Pearson, KMart and Church's Chicken.
From an early age Donald fell in love with piano players and Southern gospel music. His childhood dream was to leam to play piano and play for a Southern gospel group. He moved to Houston, Texas where he remained for 30 plus years and while there was able to form his own gospel group, called Reflection. The group traveled on weekends all over the state of Texas and parts of Louisiana seeing many souls saved and give their heart to Jesus during this time.
Donald worked as an office manager and billing manager while in Houston.
In 2013, Donald returned to Arkansas to help his sister care for his mother who suffered from dementia. Donald gained employment at the Arkansas Department of Corrections, where he worked in accounting control until retirement.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents J.D. and Evelene Rodgers Hopper; and brotherin-law, Lawnie Wilson. Donald is survived by 1 sister, Linda Wilson of Rison; and 2 brothers, James David Hopper and wife Cathy of Hampton and Larry Hopper and wife Tammy of Star City; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
No public service will be held. We would like to thank hospice care of white hall for the wonderful care provided, especially Sherry & Keshia.
