LITTLE ROCK - The Woodlawns Bears split a double header last Thursday at the Arkansas Baptist Tournament held in Little Rock, falling to the undefeated Class 5A Mountain Home Bombers, 13-2, in the first game before bouncing back with a 12-1 victory over the Palestine-Wheatley Patriots in the second game. Here is a recap of both games:

Owen Stover's double in the bottom of the first inning scored Brayden Jones to give the Woodlawn Bears an early 1-0 lead but the Mountain Home Bombers quickly responded before taking full control the game.
Mountain Home tied the game with an RBI single in the second before a solo homerun to lead off the third sparked a five-run frame as the Bombers built a 5-1 lead.
Mountain Home took over in the fourth as a the Bombers used three singles, a double, a homerun and four walks to score eight runs and extend their lead to 13-1.
Woodlawn's Jase Bishop had a double to lead off the bottom of the fifth before Tate Hall brought him home with single to make it 13-2. The Bears could not plate another run and the game ended on the 10-run rule.
Woodlawn used four pitchers against Mountain Home. Stover threw the first three innings, giving up four hits and three walks while striking out four. Mason Edmonds pitched two-thirds of the fourth inning before giving way to Tristan Bates. Hall threw the final one-and-one-third innings.
Overall, the Bears' pitchers gave up nine hits and nine walks with six strikeouts.
Offensively, Woodlawn had five hits. Bishop, Stover and Dillon Lunsford all had doubles. Hall and Dylan Butler had the other two hits.
