Charles Eugene Murphy, Jr. was bom October 7, 1961, to the late Charles Eugene Murphy Sr. and Goldie Ivanovskis in Texas. He departed this life peacefully April 17, 2023.
He dedicated his life to being a tmck driver for over 40 years and spent many of those years driving for J&K Trucking based at Hampton.
He was a family man, and grandchildren had a way of putting special sparkle in his eyes.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tiffany Murphy; a brother, Randy Murphy; and a lifetime best friend Benny (Shelly) Large from Texas. He is also preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Donald and Joann Hoss, and step-son, David Ashton. He is also preceded in death by two bonus parents, Barbara Murphy and John Ivanovskis.
Survivors include his wife Carery Murphy-Hoss; a brother, Walter (Judy) Murphy of St. Joe, ; sisters, Tamin (JJ) Hernandez of Rison, and Nora (Samuel) Robinson Deantha (Carl) Gibbons, both of Cove; a brother Travis (Crystal) Murphy of Cove,; a bonus mom, Marla Riley of Georgia.
Also left to cherish his memory are his sons Charlie (Tonya) of Hope; Chris of Texas; Shawn (Jessie) of Bearden; a stepdaughter, Christi Ashton; grandchildren, Taylor (Richard) McVay of White Hall, Ashley (Jacob) Luna of Arkadelphia, Amy (John) Howard of Thornton, James Murphy of Texas, Rachel Murphy, Noel Murphy and Autumn Murphy, all of Bearden, and Bryntli Murphy of Texas; great-grandchildren Gracie Howard of Thornton, Dalton McVay of White Hall, Camren Luna of Arkadelphia, and Isabella McVay of White Hall; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends as well as his fur baby, Bobo.
He had a passion for his family and a love for driving a tmck. He always wanted to go back on the road one more time.
He had many adventures during the tour of his lifetime. He secured his load years ago by trusting in Jesus Christ. One less driver is on the road in the big rig, he is now touring the grandest city ever.
The family will host a memorial service May 6 at First Baptist Church Eagle Mills.
