RISON - Rison Wildcat fans will have an opportunity to meet and get to know the new coaches during a "Meet & Greet" to be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 27, in the Family Life Center at Bethel #1 Missionary Baptist Church, 2230 Hwy. 35 North at Rison.
Seven of the eight boys and girls sports at Rison will have new head coaches for the 2023-24 school year. The only returning head coach will be Lady Wildcat softball coach Kristie Saunders.
Those coaches invited to take part in the Meet & Greet include Caleb Carmikle, new head football and boys track coach; Chad Cope, new head baseball coach and assistant football coach; Eli Dawson, new head boys basketball coach and assistant football coach; Kris Erstine, assistant football and baseball coach; Brandon Godfrey, new junior high football coach and varsity defensive coordinator; and Cicely Simpson, new head coach for girls basketball and girls track.
Coach Saunders has been invited to attend as well as new Cleveland County School District Superintendent Jerrod Williams.
Refreshments will be served. Bethel #1 is located at 2230 Hwy. 35 North, about 1.5 miles west of the Hwy. 79 intersection at Rison.
