Charles Ray Bray, 92, of Pine Bluff, died Thursday, March 5, 2026, at home.
He was born on March 2, 1934, in Bismarck, Arkansas, son of Roy James Bray and Mary Gladys Herrin Bray.
Charles was reared and received his early education in Bismarck.
He served in the United States Army before moving to Pine Bluff in 1958.
Mr. Bray worked for International Paper for 10 years as a forklift driver before working as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for 26 years.
He was a faithful member of Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. Charles was also a past board member and president of the Pine Bluff Postal Credit Union.
Along with his parents, Mr. Bray was preceded in death by four brothers, Roy Bray, Jr., Herschel Bray, Billy Bray and Kenneth Bray; sister, Irene Gaither; grandson, Luke Newton; and son-in-law, Tim F. Newton.
Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara Ann Spakes Bray, whom he married February 28, 1959 in Rowell; daughter, Sondra Raye Newton of Grady; Alan Carroll Bray (Debra) of Hubbard, Texas; sister, Patricia Launius of Texarkana, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Matthew Newton (Kristen), Emily Draper (Thomas), Andrew Bray (Cyndi) and Aaron Bray (Mary Jane); and two great-grandchildren, Stella Newton and Braydon Charles Newton.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 9, 2026 at Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Zack Kersey officiating. Burial will follow in Cypress Memorial Gardens by Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors. Visitation will be Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church.
