Doris Genola Smith Williams was born December 14, 1937 in Rison, AR, to the late Cal and Versie Attwood Smith. She was called from labor to reward February 27, 2023.
She received her formal education from the Lanwood School District in Rison, AR. She worked at Kilgore Nursing Home, Georgia Pacific and Central Malony where she retired. Her early Christian life started at First Baptist of Rison, AR, under the leadership of Rev. D.L Delaney and later Galilee MBC under the leadership of Rev. George Barnes Sr. and she later moved her membership to Rose Hill MBC where she was a faithful member and faithfully served on the usher board until she was called home. She also served under the Usher Federation. All praises to God for her contribution to her church and the usher ministry and in this community. May the work she has done speak for her.
She loved sports and she was crazy about her UAPB Golden Lions, Arkansas Razorback and Rison Wildcats. Before the pandemic you would see her and her sister Barbara at all UAPB home games sitting in their reserved seats and before or afterwards they would tailgate.
Mother Williams was united in holy matrimony to the late Paul Williams on August 9,1975, and their marriage was blessed for seven years until the lord called him home.
Proceeding her in death besides her parents and husband was one son Mark Bell; Brothers Cal Smith, Jr. and LC Smith; Sisters Ollie Lean Smith, Hattie Lee Segrest, Willieat Etherly and Betty Lou Smith.
Those left to cherish her precious memories whom she loved dearly are; Son Dexter E. Bell Sr. of Pine Bluff, AR, and Eric Bell (Marivic) Bellof Shreveport, LA. Eight grandchildren, Ten great grandchildren and One great great grandchild. Three sisters Annie Mae McCleod, Kedron, AR, Willie Ann Cox and Barbara Sue Williams both of Rison, AR. God Daughter Meta (George) Glass Bastrop, LA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Rose Hill Baptist Church, 2121 West 26th, Pine Bluff, AR.
The family will be at 3416 S. Louisiana Street, Pine Bluff, AR. Visitation will be 4:30-5:30 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2023 at Brown Funeral Home, Pine Bluff, AR.
