Kent Deran Morris was bom October 15, 1957, to Sam Henry Morris and Rosie Lee (Williams) Morris in Pine Bluff Arkansas.
He was the youngest of 4 siblings: Sammie (Rosie Lee) Lee Morris of Milwaukee, WI, Cora Ann Morris of Rison, Arkansas, and Charlie Ann Morris of Milwaukee, WI. He started his early schooling at Lanwood School in Rison, Arkansas. During desegregation, hewas one of the first students from Lanwood School to attend Rison Public schools. He graduated from Rison High School in 1976. He went on to complete his undergraduate degree in Childhood Education/Special Education and Development at Henderson State University in 1980.
Kent worked several years for Arkadelphia Human Development Center in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, as a youth counselor for children with differing abilities.
Kent accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. James AME Church in Rison Arkansas, where he was baptized. After relocating to Milwaukee, he joined Zion Hill Missionary Church where he served as a Tmstee and a member of the Choir and Male Choms.
He enjoyed listening to music, dancing, entertaining and dressing to the nines. He was always the life of the party. He enjoyed gardening, landscaping, and tending to his flowers. He also loved playing with and watching TV with his fur baby and K-9 companion “Mr. Smokey.”
Kent was preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandparents, Ike and Cora Williams; Paternal grandparents, Webster and Lillie Morris; Brother, Sammie Lee Morris; Sister-n-Law Rosie Lee Morris; Nephews, Billy Ray Ballard, Sr. and Lawrence Arthur Morris.
He leaves to cherish, his beloved fiance, Rita McCain-Walker of Milwaukee WI, sisters: Cora Ann Morris of Rison Arkansas and Charlie Ann Morris of Milwaukee, WI; nieces: Penecia (Penny) Morris of Rison Arkansas, Chandra Morris of Milwaukee, WI, Delechia (Timothy) Johnson of Milwaukee WI, Klesie Morris of Milwaukee, WI, Debra(Ronnie) Lewis, of MilGabriel
