May Dell Morrison, 95, of Rison, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. She was born in Star City, May 21, 1929, to the late Edgar L. Whitten and Allie E. Butler.
May retired from the Bank of Rison as a teller. She was a member of the Prosperity United Methodist Church at Pansy where she was an adult Sunday School teacher. May Dell was active with the Roy & Christine Sturgis Library of Cleveland County. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends, quilting, cooking, gardening, and loved to read her bible. Everyone loved her and she was well known for taking care of others.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years whom she married December 4, 1949, John Ralph Morrison, Sr.; two brothers, Easel Whitten and Edward Whitten; and two sisters, Jeffie McGregor and Margie Chambers.
Survivors include her son, John (Tiffinia) Morrison, Jr. of Pansy; one grandchild, Kaleb Morrison of Pansy; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 21, 2024 at the Prosperity United Methodist Church in Rison with Rev. Mary Stewart officiating. Burial at Pansy Cemetery.
