Mrs. Orris Leeta Hall, 94, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026 at her residence. Sister Orris Leeta Hall was born in Rison, Arkansas, on October 10, 1931, to the late Washington Powell and Ella Jane Powell. She made her transition to her heavenly home on April 25, 2026. Sister Hall attended the school system in Rison, AR. She continued her education at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) and later completed the Teacher Preparation Program at Michigan State University. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Sister Hall married her late husband, John A. Hall, in 1955. They were blessed to welcome their only son, Johnny Steven Hall. At an early age, Sister Hall proclaimed her love for Christ. Her Christian journey led her to become an active and proud member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Flint, Michigan, in 1967. She was a faithful member of the Senior Inspirational Mass Choir, Sunday School Class #8, and the Trustee Board. Educating and inspiring young people was a great passion for Sister Hall. She taught for more than 50 years in the Flint School System.

After retiring from the Flint Schools, Sister Hall continued teaching in the Charter School System. She devoted her life to fostering a love of learning and empowering students to reach their full potential. Whether it was in the classroom, during Saturday detention, or on a trip to the mall; Sister Hall used every moment to touch the lives of her students and colleagues. The impact she made was unwavering. Sister Hall was undoubtedly a lifelong educator and dedicated mentor.

She was known for her impeccable sense of style. She loved to dress in her sophisticated suits, fabulous church hats, and beautiful shoes. The way she carried herself with grace, she was the very definition of elegance. Sister Orris Leeta Hall leaves her legacy to: her grandchildren, Chenita (Kedric) Campbell of Detroit, MI, John Anthony (Fatima) Hall of Virginia Beach, VA and Kevin (Katia) Hall of Chesapeake, VA; great-grandsons, Jaylen and Jamir Campbell, both of Detroit, MI, Kason and Kamden Hall of Chesapeake, VA; sister-in-law, Gladys Powell of Flint, MI; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She also leaves to cherish her late son's fiancé, Constance Mickel of Flint; special friends, Dana Simmons of Flint and Gwendolyn Campbell of Detroit, MI.

Preceding Sister Hall in death was her husband, John Albert Hall; only son, Johnny Steven Hall; parents, Washington and Ella Jane Powell; and daughterin-law, Lenora Diana Hall. She was also preceded in death by four sisters and six brothers.

May God's grace continues to bless all who have been touched by the unconditional love of Sister Orris L. Hall.

Services were Friday, May 8, 2026 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Flint, Michigan, with Pastor Patrick W. Sanders II officiating. Interment was at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Services by Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home.
