Orville Harris, 88, of Star City, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on June 10, 2023.
He was born January 7, 1935, in Cleveland County, to James and Mazelle Lutrell Harris.
He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Orville began his career with the Cotton Belt Railroad and retired from the Union Pacific Railroad.
He had served as a Deacon in Central Baptist Church in Crockett, Texas.
He loved his family and enjoyed traveling.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Ruth Scoggins Harris; sons, Jeffery Harris, Ricky Lankford; his parents; great-grandchild, Nathan Lankford; a brother, James Calvin Harris, Jr., and a sister, Carolyn Freeman.
Survivors include his daughters, Tanya (Tim Bliss) Ehret of West Columbia, Texas, Stephanie Rains (Brandan) of Magnolia, Texas, Cindy Holcomb (David) of Crockett, Texas, Tara Beard of Jarrell, Texas, Ouida Proske (Jim) of Salado, Texas; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Juanita Tompkins of Rison, Arkansas; Floy Furgeson of White Hall, Arkansas, numerous nieces, and nephews.
A Memorial service will be announced in the future.
