Phillip “Ray” Lunsford, 72,of Rison, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at home with his daughter, Amanda Ashmore, by his side.
Born October 12, 1953, in Rison, he was a son to the late Robert Lunsford and the late Nora Aline Lunsford Ricks.
He was a master electrician by trade, and a dedicated father, friend and extraordinary grandfather/great-grandfather. The love for his family was fierce and when he loved you, he loved you with his whole heart.
The woods were his favorite getaway to hunt whether it was deer or hog.
Survivors include his two daughters, Amanda (Kevin) Ashmore of Rison and Kimberly Glover of DeValls Bluff; grandchildren Justin Ashmore , Brandon Ashmore, Blake Franks and Mathew Lunsford; great-grandchildren, Gideon, Lukas, Eva and a precious one on the way; and siblings, Robert “Charlie” Lunsford of Pine Bluff and Garland Ricks of Ocala, Florida.
He was preceded in death by two siblings, the late Matilda Ann Chavis, and the late James W. Lunsford.

A celebration of Ray’s life honoring this extraordinary man will be held at a later date. He will be remembered for his kindness, humor and dedication to his community.
