Jr. Lady Bears Drop Couple To Bismarck

POYEN - The Woodlawn Junior Lady Bears ended up facing the Bismarck Junior Lady Bears in back-to-back games last week with Bismarck edging out the Junior Lady Bears in both meetings. In a non-conference game last Tuesday at Bismarck, Woodlawn was up 19-17 heading into the fourth quarter when Bismarck surged ahead for a 26-23 win. Preslee Mack, a seventh grader, was the leading scorer for the Junior Lady Bears with nine. Both teams then faced off again in the Poyen Junior High Tournament with the Junior Lady Lions again coming out on top, 29-24. Bismarck used a 9-2 third quarter to go up 20-12 before the Lady Bears cut it to five by the end of the game. Kelsi Mack had 12 points to lead the Woodlawn scorers followed by Kendall Tooke with seven. ...
