Junior Bears Fall; 7th Graders Win

ROSE BUD - Rose Bud scored all of the game's points in the first half as the Junior Ramblers handed the Woodlawn Junior Bears a 22-0 loss to open the 2025 season at Rose Bud last Friday.It was quit a different game from last year when the Junior Ramblers blew out the Junior Bears, 52-14, at the Carl Jones Sports Complex at Woodlawn. Rose Bud had several players return from that team which is considered one of the Ramblers' better junior high teams in several years.Woodlawn Coach Doug Means said he had some key players that had to miss the first half but they were inserted into the starting lineup for the second half. Those additions made a difference as he Junior Bears' defense held the Junior Ramblers scoreless over the final two quarters and the offense drove deep into Rose Bud territory at the end of the game.After 8th grader Greyson Young recovered a Junior Rambler fumble at the Rose Bud 42, he then ripped off a 10-yard run followed by three carries from fellow8th grader Bentley Parker that moved the Junior Bears to the Rose Bud 19.A couple of penalties backed up Woodlawn to the 29 but Young hit tight end Miles West for a 23yard gain down to the Rose Bud 6. A running play then lost two yards and Young's pass on the last play of the game was incomplete.7th Graders Win Carson Young scored two touchdowns as the 7th grade Woodlawn Junior Bears blanked the Rose Bud 7th graders, 16-0, in a game before the junior high game.All three games - the 7th grade game, junior high game and high school - were delayed after the Woodlawn equipment trailer had a flat on the way to Rose Bud....
