AUGUSTA - Woodlawn was unable to overcome a one-touchdown deficit at halftime as the Junior Bears closed out their non-conference schedule with a 36-22 setback to the Augusta Junior Red Devils at Augusta last Friday afternoon.After the two teams put up a combined 50 points in the first half, both sides struggled to get much going over the final two quarters as Augusta scored the lone touchdown to come away with a two-score victory.Bears Coach Doug Means said it was a back-and-forth affair throughout much of the first half.Woodlawn quarterback Greyson Jones hit tight end Miles West from about 35 yards out for the Junior Bears' first score, and 7th grader Caron Young then had a 12-yard touchdown run. Jones scored on a sixyard keeper as well to make it 2822 at the half.The Junior Bears fell to 2-2 overall with the loss. They will travel to Strong this Friday to face the Junior Bulldogs in the 83A league opener....
