Junior Bears Pick Up Wins Over Hermitage, Glen Rose

WOODLAWN - Jude Roberts scored 28 and Jake Allred had a career-high 18 as the Woodlawn Junior Bears knocked off the Hermitage Junior Hermits, 58-43, in non-conference action last Friday at Woodlawn.  The Junior Bears got off to a fast start, leading 22-9 by the end of the opening frame. Hermitage battled back to make it 30-20 Woodlawn at the half. Woodlawn answered in the second half, outscoring Hermitage 11-8 in the third quarter and 17-15 in the fourth before posting the 15-point non-conference victory.  The Junior Bears improved to 5-2 with the victory. Woodlawn 44, Glen Rose 34 The Woodlawn Junior Bears built a double-digit lead by halftime, and then held off the Glen Rose Junior Beavers over the final two quarters for a 44-34 win inside the Woodalwn Gym. After leading 13-6 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Juniors Bears made it 25-13 by halftime. The Junior Beavers whittled away at that lead in the second half, winning the third quarter 10-9 and the fourth  11-10, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Woodlawn’s lead.
