Junior Lady Bears Fall To Fordyce, Beat Rison

DONALDSON - Fordyce was able to stretch its lead in the third quarter as the Junior Lady Redbugs ended the season for the Woodlawn Junior Lady Bears with a 41-26victory in the 8-2A Junior High District Tournament semifinals Monday night at Ouachita High School. Fordyce was the no. 3 seed in the tournament while Woodlawn was the no. 2 seed. The Junior Lady 'Bugs led 7-5 after the first quarter before extending their lead to 15-10 by halftime. Fordyce pulled away in the third, outscoring Woodlawn 14-6 to take a comfortable 13-point cushion into the final frame. Kendall Tooke led the Junior Lady Bears with 10 points followed by Preslee Mack with seven. Woodlawn finished the year with a 15-8 record overall. Woodlawn 44, Rison 33 DONALDSON - Woodlawn's big second quarter was the difference Saturday as the Junior Lady Bears built a 14-point halftime lead before holding off the Rison Junior Lady Wildcats for a 44-33 win in the first round of the 8-2A Junior High District Tournament. The Junior Bears were up 8-6 starting the second quarter when they went on a 14-2 run to put them up 22-8 at the half. The two teams played even in the third before Rison was shave a little off Woodlawn's lead in the fourth. The Lady Widlcats' Eryja Marks had 18 points to lead all scorers. Kelsi Mack was 10-of-12 from the free throw line as she finished with 14 points to lead the Junior Lady Bears in scoring. Kendall Tooke, meanwhile, had three 3-pointers to end up with 11 while Preslee Mack had nine and Addison Holland six. ...
