WOODLAWN - Lily White and Lillie Faye McWhorter had three hits apiece as the Woodlawn Lady Bears wrapped up a perfect 8-2A conference campaign with a 13-0 shutout of Parkers Chapel Lady Trojans in five innings Tuesday afternoon at Lady Bear Field.Woodlawn closed out the year winning 16 straight to finish the regular season 25-4 overall and 8-0 in conference. The win over Parkers Chapel was the LadyBears' 13th shutout victory under new Head Coach Matt Huitt.The Lady Bears will go into next week's 8-2A District Tournament as the no. 1 seed and have already assured themselves of a regional berth. Junction City finished second in the league at 7-1.Woodlawn will host the Class 2A Region 4 Tournament on May 8-10.McWhorter, who has signed to play softball for the Arkansas Razorbacks, made the most of her Senior Night game by not only getting three hits at the plate, but also tossing a one-hitter that included 13 strikeouts.Woodlawn went up 3-0 in the bottom of the first when White led off with a double and Kathryn Dixon followed with walk. Kendall Tooke blasted a line drive double into center that scored both runners, and Tooke then scored on McWhorter's double.The Lady Bears broke it open with six runs in the second, five of which came with two out.After the lead-off batter popped up for the first out, Kaycee Davis walked and White delivered her second double to put runners at second and third. Dixon followed with a sacrifice fly that brought Davis home. White then scored off an error on Tooke's line drive to center, and McWhorter followed with her second double to drive in Tooke to make it 6-0.After Macy Harrison drew a walk, Karsyn Chastain doubled to add two more runs.
