PARKERS CHAPEL - Woodlawn managed to keep it close early but the league-leading Parkers Chapel Lady Trojans began pulling away in the second quarter as they rolled to a 45-23 victory over the Lady Bears last Friday night at Parkers Chapel.
The 8-2A conference loss dropped Woodlawn to 1-4 in league play and 5-11 overall.
After finishing the first quarter with a 9-7 lead, Parkers Chapel went on a 12-3 run in the second to open up a 21-10 lead by the break. The Lady Trojans ended the game with its most productive quarter, outscoring the Lady Bears 15-7 in the final frame.
“We never could get anything going,” Woodlawn Coach Logan Adair said about his young team. “We really struggled for 3’s.”
Freshman Jaci Hoyt had nine points to lead the Lady Bears in scoring while Anna Fitzgibbon followed with seven.
Gurdon 44, Woodlawn 41

The game was tight throughout with the Lady Devils up 23-20 at the half before the Lady Bears cut it to 32-30 by the start the final period. But Woodlawn Coach Logan Adair said his Lady Bears just could not keep Gurdon off the offensive glass in the fourth quarter as the Lady Go Devils turned away Woodlawn.
Anna Fitzgibbon had 13 points to lead the Lady Bears followed by Jaci Hoyt with 12 and Lillie McWhorter with 10.
