POYEN - Woodlawn simply no answer for Poyen’s Kenady Barrett as she scored 36 points to pace the undefeated Lady Indians to a 60-36 win over the Lady Bears Monday at Poyen.
Behind a 20-point night from Woodlawn’s Jaci Hoyt, the Lady Bears were only down 27-22 at the half. Poyen, however, dominated over the final two frames, outscoring Woodlawn 33-14.
The Lady Bears fell to 8-10 overall and 4-4 in 8-2A play with the loss. The Lady Indians improved to 17-0 and 7-0.
Woodlawn 51, Ouachita 50
WOODLAWN - Three Lady Bears scored in double figures as Woodlawn pulled out a 51-50 win over the Ouachita Lady Warriors in an 8-2A conference nailbiter last Friday night in the Woodlawn gym.
Woodlawn was leading 26-22 at halftime when Ouachita pulled ahead, 38-37, by the end of the third.
Kelsi Mack led the Woodlawn scorers with 16 followed by Jaci Hoyt and Preslee Mack with 11 apiece. Hoyt had a big night on the glass, pulling down 11 defensive rebounds.
Hampton 63, Woodlawn 24
HAMPTON - A 25-point third quarter broke the game open as the Hampton Lady Bulldogs controled the second half for a 63-24 win over the Woodlawn Lady Bears last Tuesday, Jan. 13.
Woodlawn trailed 33-20 at halftime before Hampton had a 25-2 run in the third.
Addison Holland and Jaci Hoyt both had seven points each to lead Woodlawn.
