Lady Bears Go 1-2 at Tourney

ROSE BUD - Woodlawn struggled to find its offense from the start as the Cross County Lady Thunderbirds rolled to a 56-27 win over the Lady Bears in the final round of the Rose Bud Tournament on Saturday.Cross County led 27-10 at halftime before putting up 20 points in the third quarter to take control of the game.Kathryn Dixon had 14 points for the Lady Bears.Woodlawn fell to 8-10 overall with the non-conference loss.Woodlawn 46, Shirley 15 ROSE BUD - Jaci Hoyt and Lillie-Faye McWhorter combined for 16 points in the first quarter as the Woodlawn Lady Bears built a big lead early before dominating the Shirley Lady Blue Devils, 46-15, last Friday in the second round of the Rose Bud Tournament.Woodlawn led 22-2 at the end of the first quarter and was up 34-9 at the half.McWhorter had 15 points for the Lady Bears while Hoyt followed with 13 and Kelsi Mack with 10.Nemo Vista 66, Woodlawn 60 ROSE BUD - More than half of Nemo Vista's field goals were 3pointers as the Lady Red Hawks overcame an early nine-point deficit to knock off the Woodlawn Lady Bears, 66-60, in the first round of the Rose Bud Tournament last Thursday.Jaci Hoyt came out red hot for the Lady Bears scoring 12 of her team-high 26 points in the first quarter as Woodlawn built a 2112 lead.But the Lady Hawks came back in the second quarter, outscoring the Lady Bears 19-8 to take a 31-29 lead at halftime.After stretching its lead in the third, Woodlawn finished with 22 points in the fourth but it wasn't enough to erase Nemo Vista's lead as the Lady Red Hawks held on for the win.Of the 20 field goals Nemo Vista made in the game, 12 were 3-pointers.In addition to Hoyt's 26 points for Woodlawn, Kathryn Dixon finished with 17 while Kelsi Mack had 12.Woodlawn 61, Hope 15 DONALDSON - Jaci Hoyt scored 27 points as the Woodlawn Lady Bears h...
