JUNCTION CITY - Woodplayed what Coach Logan Adair said may have been its best defensive game of the year as the Lady Bears defeated the Junction City Lady Dragons, 49-29, in an 8-2A conference matchup last Friday on the road.
After leading 10-8 at the close of the first quarter, the Lady Bears took control in the second, outsocring the Lady Dragons 18-7 in the second to go up 28-15 at the half. Woodlawn continued to pull away over the final two quarters.
Fresham Jaci Hoyt led the Lady Bears with 16 points while Kathryn Dixon and Anna Fitzgibbon had nine points apiece.
Woodlawn improved to 1-2 in conference play with the win and 5-9 overall.
