RISON - Six of Rison’s nine hits went for extra bases as the Lady Wildcats completed an 8-3A conference sweep of the Dumas Lady Bobcat with a resounding 21-0 win in the nightcap Tuesday evening at Lady Wildcat Field.Rison improved to 5-3 overall and 3-0 in conference play with the sweep. The Lady ‘Cats won the first game, 19-4.Just as they did in the first game, the Lady Wildcats, playing as the visiting team in the second game, had a big start to take control early.This time, Rison grabbed a 9-0 lead in the opening frame.Layne Potter led it off with a triple before Riley Hyatt walked to put runners at second and third with no one out. Potter scored on an error and Hyatt scored on a wild pitch to make it 2-0. Mackenzie King and Carlese Johnson then drew walks to put two on. King scored on a passed ball and Johnson scored on a wild pitch before Rhagen Price doubled into right.Price, Haven Simpson and Elissa Summar eventually scored on wild pitches before Allie Bennett doubled to drive in a run and Potter singled to add another, making it 9-0.Rison followed that with a seven-run frame in the second, capitalizing off three walks, two errors, a hit batter, and doubles from Summar and Johnson to make it 16-0.The Lady Wildcats’ final five runs came in the third off a double from Price, a single from Claire Socia, two walks and a hit batter.Dumas did not have a base runner in the game as Potter and Johnson were perfect inside the circle as neither gave up a hit or walk. Potter had two strikeouts in the first inning whie Johnson had five over the final two frames.Potter was the only Lady Wildcat with two hits.The Lady Bobcats issued 10 walks and hit three batters over the three-inning game.
