Lady ‘Cats Run Rule McGehee, Fordyce; Edge Star City

RISON - Rison scored 15 runs over its final two innings as the Lady Wildcats rallied from a three-run deficit to blow out the McGehee Lady Owls, 16-5, in five innings Monday afternoon at Lady Wildcat Field.McGehee used a triple, three singles and an error to build a 41 lead going into the bottom of the third when Rison responded.A lead-off double by Layne Potter followed by two walks had the bases loaded with two out. Haven Simpson then launched a three-run double into center, and MacKenzie King followed with a single that drove in one more to make it 5-4.Rison put the 10-run rule into play with an 11-run fourth inning that included 10 hits, six of which went for extra bases.Potter started it off with a triple and later had joined Simpson, King, Riley Hyatt and Josey Edwards in smashing five doubles in the inning. Edwards, Carlie Crain, Carlese Johnson and Breanna Taylor also had singles in the explosive fourth.Edwards pitched all five innings for the Lady ‘Cats, allowing seven hits and one walk while striking out five.Potter and Crain both had three hits apiece as Rison finished with 15 hits.
