RISON - The Rison Lady Wildcats were unable to climb out of an early four-run hole as they fell to the Junction City Lady Dragons, 10-3, in the season opener Monday afternoon at Lady Wildcat Field.Junction City used a hit batter in the first, a walk and a single in the second, and two singles and a double in the third to go up 4-0 in the top of the third before a two-out double by Claire Socia produced Rison’s first run of the season, cutting it to 4-1 entering the fourth.Riley Hyatt and Rhagen Price had back-to-back hits to start off the bottom of the fourth Kendyl Eans’ two-out single drove in Price, making it 4-2.Junction City added a run in the top of the fifth before Rison answered when Jazlyn Price scored on Elissa Summar’s sacrifice bunt in the bottom of the inning to make it 5-3. Hyatt followed with a triple to put a runner at third put a pop up ended the frame.The Lady Dragons then used three singles, an error, a walk and a hit batter to plate four runs in the sixth to give them some breathing room.They added another run off a wild pitch in the top of the seventh to make it a 10-3 final.Jazlyn Price, a freshman, led Rison at the plate going 3-for-4 with an RBI. Hyatt went 2-for-3 with a triple while Rhagen Price, Eans and Socia also had hits.Starting pitcher Rhagen Price was saddled with the loss after giving up seven his with eight strikeouts over six innings inside the circle.
