Turnovers Bury Junior Bears

WOODLAWN - The Woodlawn Junior Bears had five turnovers - two of which were interceptions returned for touchdowns - as the bigger and faster Strong Bulldogs rolled to a 62-14 victory at the Carl Jones Sports Complex last Friday afternoon.

With a starting unit made up mostly of 7th and 8th graders, the Junior Bears struggled to match up with the taller Junior Bulldogs.

That was evident on Strong’s first touchdown when a Junior Bulldog receiver with about a one-foot height advantage pulled in a pass over the Woodlawn defender to go 35 yards for Strong’s first touchdown to make it 6-0 with 6:13 left. That score came after Woodlawn turned it over on their first possession of the game.
