Woodlawn Junior Teams Pick Up Early Hoop Wins

WOODLAWN - The Woodlawn Junior Bears and Lady Bears split a non-conference basketball double-header with Hermitage on Tuesday night. Kendall Tooke and Jaci Hoyt both scored 11 points apiece to lead the Junior Lady Bears to a 37-30 win over the Hermitage Junior Lady Hermits. The Hermitage Junior Hermits, meanwhile, took down the Junior Bears, 52-37. Woodlawn was without leading scorer Jude Roberts, who was sick. Jake Allred led the Junior Bears with 14 followed by Chandler Freye with eight. Hamburg Tip-Off Classic Jaci Hoyt scored 15 on four three-pointers as the Woodlawn Junior Lady Bears blew past Camden Harmony Grove, 38-10, in the first round of the Hamburg Tip-Off Classic. Kendall Tooke followed Hoyt with seven points for the Junior Lady Bears. Meanwhile, Jake Allred had 13 points and Chandler Freyer had seven as the Woodlawn Junior Bears knocked off Camden Harmony Grove, 32-8, at the Tip-Off Classic. Both teams advance to play Thursday with the junior girls playing Hamburg at 6:45 p.m. and the junior boys play Hermitage at 7:45 p.m. ...
