Woodlawn’s Will Richardson Earns GAC Weekly Honor

MAGNOLIA, Ark. - Former Woodlawn baseball standout Will Richardson of Southern Arkansas University was recently named the Week 1 Great American Conference Co-Player of the Week based on his performance in the Muleriders’ run at the Dugan Invitational held at Majestic Park in Hot Springs.The 6-3 senior pitcher/first baseman had six hits and scored seven mns in three Mulerider wins at the Dugan Invitational.Richardson hit a grand slam, drove in five and scored four mns against Rogers State University of Claremont, Okla. He reached base four times and scored twice against Northeastern State of Tahlequah, Okla. He added a single and a run against Colorado School of Mines. SAU won the three games by a combined 50-8 margin. Overall, the Magnolia Banner News reported that Richardson hit .500 (6-for-12) at the Dugan Invitational with seven mns scored and seven RBIs.It was first time in Richardson’s career for him to earn the GAC weekly honor.Will is the son of Tommy and Leigh Richardson of the Pansy community....
