Lady Wildcats Win Two More

HORATIO - The Rison Lady Wildcats came back from a sixrun deficit to knock off the Nashville Junior Varsity Scrapperettes, 11-6, before blowing out the Acorn Lady Tigers, 175, in a double header at Horatio on Saturday.It was the fourth straight win for the Lady 'Cats as they improved to 4-3 overall: Rison 11, Nashville JV 6Nashville scored three runs off three singles in the top of the first before adding three more off a homerun and a sacrifice bunt in the third to go up 6-0 before the Lady 'Cats scored.Rison cut that lead in half in the bottom of the third when Rhagen Price singled with one out and Layne Potter brought her home with a two-out double. Josey Edwards then walked, and Carlie Crain followed with another double to score both runners and make it 6-3.In the fourth inning, Rison's Haven Simpson walked with one out before scoring on a two-out error off Price's grounder. Another walk and another error added one more run before Riley Hyatt and Potter both scored on passed balls to give Rison a 7-6 lead.Nashville issued five consecutive walks to start the bottom of the fifth before Hyatt had a two-run single and Price scored on an error to make it an 11-6 final.Potter, Crain, Price and Hyatt accounted for Rison's four hits in the game. The Lady 'Cats drew nine walks.Edward pitched all six innings, giving up nine hits, one walk and striking out seven.Rison 17, Acorn 5Rison saw a six-run lead cut to one before the Lady 'Cats exploded for 11 runs in the top of the fifth inning to invoke the 10run rule in a 17-5 win over the Acorn Lady Tigers Saturday.Carlie Crain's two-out single in the top of the first gave Rison an early 1-0 lead before the Lady Wildcats tacked on five more in the second.Back-to-back singles by Rhagen Price and Carlese Johnson to start the frame plated one run before an error added one more.
