RISON - A Fordyce man was arrested last Monday, June 16, at a residence in Rison on a series of felony charges related to drug trafficking, according to the Dallas County Jail log.Bobby Macon, 47, of Fordyce, was arrested by the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department at a residence on Elrod Street last Monday morning. The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) also conducted an investigation of the premises at the time of the arrest.Several unmarked law enforcement vehicles were at the scene when the arrest was made. Neither the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Department nor the Arkansas State Police were at the residence during the search.Chief Deputy Gary Young of the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Department said that while Cleveland County was not involved in the arrest, their department was aware of it. He said he did not know if Brock will face any charges in Cleveland County at this time. If so, he said those charges would likely come through the FBI.When contacted by the Herald, the FBI emailed the following statement: “The FBI, along with our state and local partners, was conducting court authorized law enforcement activity in Rison, Arkansas on June 16th. At this time, there is no threat to public safety. Since this is an ongoing federal investigation, we are not able to provide any additional details.”Macon was arrested at 9:32 a.m. Monday, June 16, in Rison, and booked at the Dallas County Jail in Fordyce, according to the Dallas County Jail log. While he was arrested in Rison, the jail log listed his official residence as Fordyce.
