RISON — Residents of Cleveland County are invited to a colon cancer screening event on Thursday, April 17, in Rison. Patient navigators from the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) will offer free take-home colorectal cancer screening kits, as well as information and resources on other recommended cancer screenings.
Sponsored by the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute’s Community Outreach and Engagement Program, the screening event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rison Pharmacy located at 300 Pine St.
Leading the event is Rachel M. Will, the Cancer Institute’s patient navigator for Cleveland County. A resident of Rison, Will is available to help residents of Cleveland and neighboring counties navigate the cancer care system, answer cancer care questions and provide education and resources to the public.
