Sheets joins AgHeritage As Ag Lending Officer

PINE BLUFF - Cole Sheets has joined AgHeritage Farm Credit Services in the role of Ag Lending Officer in the Pine Bluff branch office.Sheets earned a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Business and Management from the University of Arkansas, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.

CCSB Approves E-Rate Consultation Contract

RISON - The Cleveland County School Board voted to enter into a consulting agreement with Education Innovations in regards to spending the district's E-Rate funds, Superintendent Davy King said.

Gun Raffle Planned for Rauls Family

RISON - A gun raffle to benefit Marquis Rauls and family has been set up with a Henry Lever Action 22 donated by Rattaree Pawn Shop.Tickets are $5 each, or five for $20. A winner will be announced Saturday, Feb. 8.
This 18-wheeler ran off Hwy. 35 just south of Rison early Friday morning to avoid colliding with a larger tree that had fallen across the highwy just south of Rison at about 5:30 a.m. Chief Deputy Gary Young said the sheriff's department had four reports of trees falling across roads in the county. Winter Storm Brings Ice, Sleet to County

RISON - Sleet and freezing last rain last Thursday evening into late Friday morning, Jan. 9-10, knocked out power in some areas, closed schools and caused treacherous driving conditions along local roadways as the first winter storm of the season passed through Cleveland County.

Food Pantry Jan. 18 at Macedonia MBC

RISON - Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, located at 7370 Hwy. 35 South, will open its Food Pantry Saturday, Jan. 18 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The church holds its food pantry the third Saturday of each month.
