The Woodlawn Bears (23-9) will take on the Dierks Outlaws (20-11) at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, in the first round of the Class 2A Region 4 Tournament at Hampton High School. Woodlawn is the no. 3 seed from the 8-2A conference while Dierks enters as the no. 2 seed from the 7-2A conference. A victory Thursday would give the Bears a berth in the Class 2A State Tournament to be held next week at Poyen. Woodlawn earned the no. 3 seed after defeating Poyen, 62-58, on Friday in the consolation game of the 8-2A District Tournament at Junction City. The Bears lost to Junction City, 61-54, in the district tournament semifinals on Thursday, which put them in the third-place game against Poyen on Friday. This will be the second time for Woodlawn and Dierks to meet this season. The Bears knocked off the Outlaws, 68-42, in a tournament game at Bismarck back on Nov. 25.
