The Woodlawn Bears and Lady Bears will go into this week’s 8-2A District baseball and softball tournaments, respectively, as no. 1 seeds after coming out on top during the regular season schedule.
Both earned byes to the district tournament semifinals by winning the regular season, which means both have automatic bids to the Class 2A Region 4 Tournament set for next week at Murfereesboro. The regionals seeds for the 8-2A conference are determined by order of finish at the district tournament.
The Bears are 19-6 overall and 7-1 in conference play. They tied Junction City for the regular season title but earned the top district tournament seed by virtue of their 9-8 head-to-head win. The Lady Bears are 21-4 overall and went 7-0 in conference play.
