Bears, Lady Bears Prepare for District Tournament

The Woodlawn Bears and Lady Bears will be playing in the 8-2A District Tournament this week being hosted by Junction City High School. The Lady Bears, who finished the regular season as the fifth seed, are scheduled to take on the Fordyce/Gurdon winner at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17. Should the Lady Bears win that game they will advance to play Parkers Chapel in the quarterfinals at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18. The Bears finished the regular season as the no. 3 seed in the 8-2A. They have a bye to the quarterfinals and will face the Ouachita/Parkers Chapel winner at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18. Should the Bears win that game, they will advance to face Junction City in the semifinals at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19. A team must advance to the semifinals in order to qualify for a trip to the regional tournament.
