    City of Rison Finds More Than $10,000 in ‘Treasure Hunt’

    Rison Mayor Charles Roberts discovered the City of Rison has $10,845.12 in unclaimed property through The Great Arkansas Treasure Hunt program, primarily consisting of funds from Entergy and a refund from Sherwin-Williams. The city plans to distribute these funds evenly among the general, street, water, and wastewater funds, with a portion covering taxes for a new sewer machine. Current and former Arkansas residents can search their names online through the ClaimItAR.com website to see if they may have some unclaimed property.  The auditor’s office verifies proof of ownership and then issues payment or returns the property.
