Cleveland County Quorum Court To Pick New Judge

The Cleveland County Quorum Court is scheduled to appoint a new county judge during its regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m. tonight (Monday, Feb. 2) at the Hall-Morgan Veterans Building across from the courthouse in Rison. The appointee will replace the late Jimmy Dale Adair, who was appointed in October to complete the unexpired term of the late Jimmy Cummings, who passed away in August. Whoever is selected will serve as county judge through Dec. 31, 2026. Justice of the Peace Donnie Herring of the Pleasant Ridge community will preside over the meeting as moderator.
