Woodlawn senior lineman Dakota Campbell received the Brandon Burlsworth Award from Coach Tommy Tice following the Bears’ appearance at the eight-man state championship game last Thursday at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.
The award is presented to a player who exhibits the same work ethic and qualities displayed by the late Brandon Burlsworth, an All-American lineman for the Arkansas Razorbacks who died in a car accident before beginning his professional career with the Indianapolis Colts.
Campbell has been a standout offensive and defensive lineman for the Bears for three seasons. Tice coached Burlsworth when he played at Harrison High School.
