Facility, Equipment Issues Dominate Triplett’s First Quorum Court Meeting

Body

The Cleveland County Quorum Court addressed several facility and equipment issues during its regular meeting Monday, the first presided over by newly appointed County Judge Don Triplett. Triplett updated the court on compliance problems at the county’s solid waste transfer station, including missed stormwater runoff testing since 2013. The court approved funding for required testing and created a committee to review installation of new covers for the roll-off containers, which are funded by a grant. Triplett also reported problems with the courthouse elevator and other equipment needing repairs. In other business, the court formalized funding for the Glendale Volunteer Fire Department, approved tourism promotion funding, sought bids for floor refinishing at the Hall-Morgan Veterans Building, and discussed a burn ban and possible support of an amateur radio emergency network.
