Johnson Wins Kingsland Mayor’s Race

Samantha Johnson, a licensed social worker, captured 73 percent of the vote win the Republican primary election for Kingsland mayor.  Johnson receive 59 votes compared to 22 for current Mayor Karen Wiscaver. 

The Kingsland City Council appointed Wiscaver as mayor last year after the resignation of former Mayor Sharon Crosby. 

This was Johnson’s first bid to run for mayor. She will be unopposed in the general election since there are no other candidates for mayor. She will take office Jan. 1, 2027.
