Rally Networks, parent company of Cleveland County Telephone, announced plans to expand its fiber optic internet network beyond Kingsland and Rison, supported by more than $35 million in federal grants and loans awarded in December 2024. Construction is set to begin Jan. 15, with customer activation expected by June and full completion by the end of the year. The project will deliver up to 8 gigabits of symmetrical internet speed to residential and business customers, with service supported by local technicians. All fiber will be buried for improved reliability. The expansion will extend along major highways and county roads around Rison and Kingsland, funded through the USDA’s ReConnect rural broadband program.
