Rison Sports Hall of Fame Banquet, Awards Program Saturday

The Second Annual Rison Sports Hall of Fame banquet will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the White Hall Community Center, at 9801 Dollarway Road in White Hall. Sponsored by the Rison Booster Club, the event will honor five new inductees selected through a nomination and voting process. This year’s class includes the 1980 Rison Wildcat Girls Mile Relay Team; former NFL player Tyrell Johnson; state champion hurdler Ira Moore; standout athlete and CFL Rookie of the Year William Miller; and the 1990 Class A State Championship football team, which famously ended Barton’s 63-game winning streak. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Advance tickets can be purchased at the FBT Bank branch in Rison or through CashApp at $risonbooster.
