Rison junior Noah Matheson, a right-handed pitcher and middle infielder for the Wildcats, has been named to the Perfect Game WWBA Underclass World Championship All-Tournament Team, recognizing his standout performance at one of the nation’s premier high school baseball showcases.
Matheson, an All-State and All-Conference selection from Rison, recently competed the event in Fort Myers, Fla., with the Baseball Portal 17U National Team based out of Southaven, Miss. Matheson made a strong impression both on the mound and at the plate.
He started the first game of the tournament for Baseball Portal, pitching five innings while striking out seven batters, allowing two hits and one earned run for a 1.3 ERA. Offensively, he had a .423 batting average with a double and four RBIs.
