The Cleveland County Quorum Court voted unanimously Monday to stop renting the Hall-Morgan Veterans Building for private events after repeated damage to the facility. Justices of the Peace cited mounting items on walls and peeling paint despite recent investments in displays and interior improvements by the Veterans Association. Officials discussed raising rental fees and deposits, but several members argued repairs were costing more than rental revenue, which totaled about $2,370 last year. The building will remain available for public events hosted by local agencies and civic groups. Existing private reservations will be honored, but no new private rentals will be accepted.
