RISON - Christian Reeves scored 12 of his game-high 28 points in the second quarter to fuel an 18-8 run as the Rison Wildcats snapped a three-game losing streak with a 70-46 win over the DeWitt Dragons Tuesday night in 8-3A league action inside the Rison Gym.Rison led 15-12 at the end of the opening frame when Christian Reeves hit a couple of 3-pointers in the second to help the ‘Cats bolt out to a 33-20 lead by the half. DeWitt never recovered from there as Rison continued to pull away over the final two quarters. Christian Reeves was one of three Wildcats to score in double figures. Chandler Reeves finished with 15 while Kyson Walker had 12.Rison made nine 3’s against the Dragons with Christian Reeves knocking down four, Chandler Reeves and Walker hitting two apiece, and TJ Marks adding one more.The win avenged a 47-41 the Wildcats suffered at DeWitt on Jan. 16.Rison moved to 6-7 overall and 3-6 in 8-3A play with the win.Lake Village 72, Rison 52RISON - Lake Village used some runs in the second and third quarter to build on an early lead as the Beavers knocked off the Rison Wildcats, 72-52, in an 8-3A conference matchup last Friday at Rison.The Beavers led 18-14 after the first quarter before adding 21 points in second to open up a 39-28 lead by halftime.In third quarter, Lake Village’s Rakebrien Wallace scored nine of his game-high 24 points as the Beavers extended their lead to 55-37 entering the fourth.The two teams combined for 15 3-pointers with Lake Village knocking down eight and Rison seven. Wallace had four treys for the Beavers while Chandler Reeves had three for the Wildcats.
