The Rison City Council voted Tuesday to give the city’s three hourly employees a $1,200 annual raise while freezing pay for department heads. The council also approved Christmas bonuses of $300 for employees with at least one year of service and $400 for those with more than 25 years. Mayor Charles Roberts reported that wastewater facility upgrades, water tank renovations, and new water line installations should be completed by early 2026, with property restoration to follow. He is also seeking funding for Phase 2 of the water line project and pursuing grants for industrial park cleanup and a new walking trail.
